As title says I've researched enough came across one thread and one person claims it can be done other says it cannot.

I'd like to see if anyone has done it I have a 94 style igniter and distirbutor for the 22re the plugs/connectors all look the same as the 91 besides the igniter (ignition coil) is physically different in shape and part number. Will the 94 parts work on my 91. Parts came off of a 4x4 and will be going itno my 4x4 so nothing different in that aspect except for years and part numbers.

Depends on the plug wires, some kinds will fit, others not. (ie. some years clip on, others just fit, right?)

If the connectors are the same, I wouldn't hesitate to try it.
Of course, if the connectors were different I'd still do it after changing connectors.

Update: I went ahead and took the plunge and I hope this info helps a lot of you folks out there and if it does please let me know. And the verdict: If you take a 94 igniter aka ignition coil and a 94 distributor cap everything from there is plug and play it mounts up exactly the same no holes need to be drilled for the ignition coil and all the plugs are identical and it works like a charm. Install should not take more than 10 minutes max.

Keep in mind this is all from a 94 4wd truck going into a 91 4wd drive truck. So the 93/94 styled components clearly work on the 91.

At this time I'd like to take out time to thank all the forum members who posted you guys are awesome keep up the good work.
