Hey all,

New guy here - my first post.

Bought a 1995 Avalon XL from a co-worker. The car is a creampuff: coupla scratches, 152,000 miles, regular maintenance was kept up, new struts, hoses, brakes, & alignment done within the last 24 months. It does need tires, though.

Here’s the issue...

The other day some knucklehead in a BMW pulls out of a driveway in front of me, I slam on the brakes, skid, & thankfully stop short of the guy. Since then the front end wobbles (really noticeable in the steering wheel at 10 - 20 mph on flat surfaces. It does not change at higher speeds, nor does it change when braking.

Did something break or do I need new tires, or???

Any ideas?

Michael

P.S. Great forum!

I ruined a set of tires (chopped them) on my Avalon, because the rear right was out of alignment by a lot. I thought it was just the tire and kept rotating them. For the $50 it's definetly worth it to have the alignment checked. If you run good tires on a unaligned suspension, not only will you have a bumpy ride, but you'll ruin your tires, which nowadays aren't cheap. Just my thoughts.
