I installed an aftermarket hu in my 97 avvy. This was a few months ago. I have not driven the car at nite since tgen. I did ans now i have no dash lights. And no shifter lights. Absoulty everything else on the car comes on and works. The dimmer is not turned all the way down. When i did the install i could not find a wireimg harness. I ran a new hot and groumd wire directly from the battery. I ran new wires to the speakers. This car does have the factory amp. I also noticed my radio reception is not as good as it used to be. I went through almost 400 gen 1 avy post. I have determined i must have to hook up some of the wires to somethimg possibly a hot wire in order tp get the lights to come on when i turn the head lights on and also for the power antenma. This is a power antenna in the glass. Not one that retracts. If any one knows what color the wires are and what i need to do help will be greatly appreciated

Check the fuses before you run more wires. I think it would be one in the fuse block down and left of the steering wheel, behind a pop-out door.

Is it just your dash lights are out and no other lights are out (i.e. night running lights, side markers, etc?)

If all your fuses are good, it could be the rhetostat burned out if it got shorted. I usually check the following fuses. Might vary or be n/a

Checked that it was good started tracing wires when i got a wireing diagram. It turned out to be a short in the wire going to the light aroud cigar lighter. I figured this out when i puled tge guages out again at night. The leghts were on enough to se in the dark but not during the day or when the the light were on at nite. I pulled the gear shifter light on the floor and i could barely tell it was on at nite It had shorted enouhg to keep lights from coming on but not burn a fuse or burn the short out its self. Fixed the short then i had lights
