Hi, I have a 99 Corolla that was throwing a p0125 code. I bought a WVE 5S1491 temp sensor off rockauto and got it installed. The code went away, but now my engine keeps running hot.

While idling, the gauge is around 2/3 to 3/4. While driving, it has been about 1/2 to 3/4 when moving but goes up past 3/4 when moving slowly or stopped at a light.

I think I've got all the air bubbles out. Is it just a bad sensor?

What method did you use to burp the cooling system?

Many of us put the heater on high temp and fan speed high while squeezing the inlet hose on the passenger side or use a no spill funnel. Front of the car on jack stands too.

Don't forget to make sure the water pump isn't leaking and allowing system pressure to go low, encouraging boilover.
