Unless you coast down a large hill or accelerate hard toward the end of your drive, there is no way to force charge the battery.

If you want to charge the battery, get a PHEV.

BTW ....there IS no Free Lunch, if you store energy in a battery it has to come from somewhere, and in this case, somewhere is from your pocketbook, buying gasoline to run that engine a little longer, or harder.

If alternator is putting out right and battery is good it will stay charged even I jùt city driving. if battery is not staying fully charged battery or alternator is on way out. Take to real mechanic have them tested

 

Idling with AC on will eventually use engine power to charge HV but no matter what it will only charge to 80% at most by design - as others said - I'd leave it alone. Keep the HVs filters clean for max cooling - that helps the HV batts a lot.

Nope. it’s not a RAV4 Prime.
It does it automatically, while on the freeway, it keeps it at a minimum level. When you get off the highway, you prepare for it by going into brake regeneration as much as possible

Force the battery to do anything it doesn't want to do. A. Closed casket funeral. B Replace the battery out of warranty coverage, because we the techs can spot and document abuse. for more than the car is worth. And they are all rapidly become worthless. 80% depreciation 5 years old.

Been using a battery tender for many years now. I charge the battery once a week. Used it on my last car and after 6 years the battery still worked great. Now I use it on my 2024 Toyota Corolla LE. It charges very slow and just tops off the battery. It's safe and easy and a good way to extend battery life and theoretically extend the life of the cars alternator. But that part is just a theory. That's a nice tool for the 12V; the OP was asking for the traction hybrid battery.

 

You can do this on some plug in Hybrids! My Prius Prime will do this as an additional feature that you have to activate. I have not had a non-plug in Hybrid since 2003 that can do what was asked that I am aware of. However, if the battery is at or below the computers minimum level, they all will go into fast charge mode, and you can hear in in the cockpit!

If we were talking about a 1966 Tiara or 68 HiLux, what an awesome bucket of bolts that was, then the answer is yes. With a mechanical voltage regulator you could set it anywhere you wanted. At 16 volts that Craig Powerplay booster on the 8 track would crank. But you had to add water to the battery once a week.

 

Key words: "add water to the battery" I try and make this a habit once a year but might be a little more of a challenge with the Venza's battery tucked away in the right rear. Not even sure if those caps can/will come off, as I know the battery is vented via tubing to the outside.
