Ae90 to AE101 compatibility?

I know some parts can swap generation to generation, is the header on a 4afe one of those?

I found an aftermarket one, and it looks nicer than anyone I can find for the 101

I can only find the same header I just destroyed on mine.
And I think its cause I have a 1.6 and the header is the 1.8 and there is a height difference from what I have heard, I have the flange style 02 sensor already, which is what the header I ordered has.
If it doesn't fit I can return it, and if it does then it will look a lot better than any other one I can find

Glad I got it cheaper than that xD

there's roughly a 1/2" difference between the 1.6 and 1.8... alot of times the sellers assume it will fit and in most instances it will, but if you look around you'll see some people that posted their header hits the cross member and this is due to the car using a 1.8 header on the 1.6. some guys just notch the cross member. the better method would be to cut the 1/2" out around the flange and have it welded back up.

That half inch was the death of my header lol

My cars dropped 4 inches in all, so every bit of height counts.
Hopefully they header I ordered provides more clearance, and won't leak like hell.

let me guess, tore the flex joint? i have the opposite issue with my 16V 4age header on my 20V. it's too close to the oil pan. i need to space it 1/2" down. i need to get some pipe to weld in. but no ground clearence issues. it tucks up really nice.

Yeah, it more than tore it actually....
It snapped it in half lol
Came into a parking lot at a weird angle and part of the road flipped up and pushed straight up onto the flex pipe and snapped it.

Its cheap stainless though.
I have one, and it looks nasty as hell, so I wrapped it.

But I ordered the one I posted, for 152 before the price hopped to 5000 lol

i've actually taken my lower 7afe pipe and bolted it onto the 4age head pipe at the flange. it would have probably worked good except it stuck the whole pipe assembly lower than where i'd like it. i'm just dealing with the header mid pipe close to my oil pan for now till i get my fujitsubo header fixed. you can't go wrong with the cheap stainless ones. the biggest part is once you install it, you NEED TO WIPE IT OFF WITH RUBBING ALCOHOL OR ACETONE to get all the grease/oil/finger prints off it before you fire the car up. if you don't those will be permanently burnt into the metal and gives you the cruddy appearance. if you clean it before firing, you'll maintain a nice Blued finish.

here's a pic of the 7afe down pipe with the 4age header on my 20V.

and the 4age stock mid and back pipe close to the oil pan.

Is the header a stock 20v 4age? I am doing a 4afe to 20v 4age swap on my 1992 Celica. Almost done just need to finish wiring harness. I need a downpipe, will the 7afe downpipe match up to the stock 20v 4age header? The 4AFE downpipe did not match up.

oh cool, you had a down pipe made. i actually have a SV3power.com MR2 silvertop downpipe set that i have yet to finish welding up. i'm waiting to get my cracked block swapped over then i'll be installing it back into my car. looks good though. what was the orange paint used? high temp?
