Hi guys,

I'm reaching out to you to get some help or advice. I bought an aftermarket fog light kit for my 2004 Matrix on aliexpress that came with wiring and everything.

The fog lights were pretty easy to install in the front bumper and I figured out how to pass the wiring through the firewall without too much trouble.

As I was searching through the forum, I found a topic where someone used the dimmer switch to tap in the power and ground wires from the new fog light switch. Problem is, my dimmer switch has different wire colors and I can't seem to find the right ones to tap in.

Currently, my power wire is attached to the red/black wire and ground is on the black wire. The switch light appears, but as I activate it, the relay buzzes and the fogs don't light up.

Here are pictures for reference.

Thanks for the help and sorry for the long text!

You need to probe the wires to find power when ACC on.

There’s many configurations you can do on the switch the kit provides. Just depends on what you want. You can also make wiring changes to the switch by releasing the pins on the connector.

I wired my fogs to turn on the fog light indicator light to turn on only when the fog lights are on.

Otherwise, you can get the original turn signal stalk with the fog light switch built in which is what I also did to turn on my secondary set of lights. Yes, I did both factory fog switch and aftermarket button.
