Air conditioning controls malfunction

On my 2007 Highlander Limited, (4WD, automatic, 3.3L 6 cylinder) I cannot change the "Mode" on the air conditioning. It stays on dash vents. No defrost, no blend, no floor vents UNLESS you dial the Temp up to high heat then it is all floor vents. Also, the fan speed is dependent on Temp setting.....all the way down to 65 degree setting = full speed fan, 70 degree = half speed fan, all the way up to 85 degree setting = full speed fan to floor vents. Fan speed switch does nothing, Auto switch does nothing, Mode switch does nothing. Off switch works. Anyone ever had this happen? My friend is a service tech at local Toyota dealership and said he has never had an AC control head problem come through his shop. Could something have come unplugged from this unit?
Thanks

Just a guess, but it sounds like the mode switch is stuck in "Auto" mode and that is overriding any other feature selection involving the fan and the AC condenser. I don't know how to get it unstuck, but you might try pressing two or more selections at the same time or try pressing the Mode switch to get it unstuck. Sorry I can't offer much help. Good luck.
