couldnt find the answer in older threads so ill make this a little simple.. im planning on putting some costly upgrades to my camry 01' but at the same time i want it to be protected. i want to know what features im accessable to and which isnt. i have an LE model. for all you gen 4 and 4.5 owners.. are "dome light supervision" and roll up windows workable for our camrys? i can roll up my drivers side window with one push but not the other windows so i think that might be a possibility.. im considering a clifford matrix 10.5x, any opinions on it?

Get what i just installed Clifford Matrix 10.5 for more information see here.....

http://www.clifford.com/matrix/responder/default.asp

i mean it comes with an lcd remote that alerts you your car alarm is going off and shows you what is happening...it aslo can come with an auto kill igntiion...auto start..trunk pop....code hopping..dual shock sensors.. yada yada so pretty much the would be car theif is screwed...costly but a sweet system...and speaking of systems after having mine stolen without an alarm i opted to pay the extra $$$$$ because i would rather be safe than sorry :)

dome light supervision is when u unlock the car the dome light will pop up so u ncan see if there is anyone in ur car before u enter it...the windows i think that it is possible with a aftermarket alarm....but u have to know what u r doing...i had a guy i know at bestbuy do it for me for n nothing

if your car didnt have domelight supervision, trunk pop, and roll up windows from the factory, is it still possible? or will custom parts needed to be installed?
Yes its possible.

I don't know about other alarms, but Viper has dome light supervision. Its built into the brain (alarm itself), all that needs to be done is wire up a relay to the dome light circuit.

Trunk pop requires a silenoid (motor) to be installed in the trunk. The silenoid gets wired to a relay which is triggered by an auxilary output from the alarm.

Window roll up or up/down can be added on via a module.

I was thinking about doing the highest model Viper system that we have at Best Buy. It goes for $510 but I work there in car audio and get it for $170 so I'm gunna go that route probably. Getting it installed is costly for sure, but you need to remember it's not the easiest thing in the world to install a whole system. I like Compustar a lot, but they dont offer it at Best Buy...those are probably the best systems. Viper and Clifford are just as good though basically.
