Why would you install spacer on stock wheels?!?!?

225/45R17 will fit perfectly on a Corolla.
In fact they closer to the original 205/55R16 dimensions!!!

Finally as 225/45R17 or larger if you install spacer it will probably have rubbing issues!!!

because I like my wheels to be more "flush" with the fender vs sucked in - I see many others here on the forum have done the same and I like the outcome - I hope this answers your question. And thank you for your response regarding the tires i appreciate it

Thanks SuperchargedMR2 - I tend to agree with you on spacers - I have run them (mind you quality machined pieces) on everything from lifted Jeeps to track cars with zero problems - I think the issue is when people talk about "spacers" in general there are just so many variables it's tough to say "all are good" or "all are bad"......I think the proper spacer, made correctly on the right vehicle will yield nothing but positive results and I'm sure the complete opposite holds true as well.

Last weekend i was at 160mph+ on 15mm spacers (track event, none public road blah blah blah) without a doubt in my mind as to the integrity of the spacers, my wheels, the suspension etc.....

 

20mm no problem, I ran mine for a year, with a 2" drop, not even a rub.
Now running 18"X8.5", 225/40/18, I would go with 235/35 next time, and still have plenty of room.
And I drive pretty hard.
