Appreciate your Camry

My son purchased new Ford F150 with extended cab-- the half doors a the back with seats and limited legroom. Took me on two hours trip with me in the back. Front headrest right in my face, wide door pillars limiting side vision. Not great for sightseeing.
While I am almost always the driver if riding and have little experience riding in the back seat, I suspect that the rear seat passengers in the Camry-- Gen 4 in particular-- have it better than they would in many other cars.

i would feel claustrophobic too in a supercab. a buddy has a current gen f150 supercrew small box, sat in both front and back. with the supercrew in the back, you definitely have more legroom and hiproom than our gen4s.

i want those led side-mirror spotlights on the xl/xlts.

and its also nice to know that Camrys are easy to fix and aftermarkets parts are cheap.

I had a friend who owned a Suzuki car a few years back, he claimed there were almost no aftermarket parts and he had to source parts from a dealer

I don't think I can fit comfortably in anything smaller than a Camry sized car.

Just the other day I took a half hour ride in a Mazda 3 and the back seat felt very cramped for my legs. The wheel base is shorter so it has a noticeably choppy ride compared to a midsized, softly sprung car. Even my 2 door Solara had more rear seat comfort.

I Appreciate my camry when I go to our local junk yard and when I need to find stuff on how to do things on youtube/google.

Tried finding DIY on other cars (domestics or other import such as suzuki)....kinda hard.

The Camry is a great car to go around town and when comes down to repairs is very cheap and reasonable. Would one day consider getting an Avalon for a bit just because I do sometimes passengers that are a little bigger than the normal size and the Camry is a bit tight for that.

Yes I agree with this too, there's plenty of Gen 4, Solara and a few Gen 5's starting to pop up at my favorite yard.
One thing I notice though (I also have an Accord) the Honda's at the yard are more picked over than the Toyota's, and there's always a ton of people in the Honda section. I think it has to be because the Honda community is more DIY/tuner oriented than Toyota owners. But that makes it better for us Toyota owners...more parts for us to choose!

I've always been thinking of the Avalon. It seems like a very nice large car, however I feel like there isn't as much of an online community for it, and there are lesser of them in the yards. I've recently been thinking about an older Maxima, or maybe a Highlander/Matrix for the wagon versatility.

I live roughly in central Calif, within range of 5 or more junkyards.

Someone who likes tacos and soccer sideswiped my car and took off, dealership said over $1800 to replace the 2 screwed-up doors on my 96 v6 Camry.

GULP..!

I used row52.com and input that I was willing to drive 100 miles; in a week I had two perfect COLOR-MATCHED DOORS (with door card, and electric up/down and glass) for $53 for each of those doors.

Installed in 10 minutes they look better than my original doors, you cannot detect I was in an accident.

No dent pulling, sanding, grinding, priming, painting --NOTHING but 2 screwdrivers and some driving.

Camrys 15 or so years old in Calif? They're ALL OVER THE PLACE.

I also replaced both of my tan leather, motorized seats for $55 a piece, my originals looked like a Skeet team expended their left-over ammo on them.
