Are driver and passenger seat interchangeable?

Basic question in title, but I need to replace my drivers seat, all worn/ripped. Gen4, 1999 Camry.
I found candidates in salvage yards, some decent, but the passenger seat is always in better shape than the drivers. Mine is Leather LE. I know the passenger doesn't have the lumbar support adjustment the drivers seat does, but does the rest match? Will it bolt right in? Or do I need to get a drivers seat?
Thanks for your help!

Hmm.... good point, I forgot about the controls. The lumbar I can do without, but the recline would be on the inside instead of the outside. But I so rarely use that......

Wow, that may be exactly what I'm looking for. Swapping a right from a donor into my left ... thanks !!

In the 96 V6 gen3 you can't swap them.

The bolt cradle configurations are chiral, no swapping.

Also one is electric, the other one LOOKS the same but it's manual.
Mine is a gen4, and both are manual, so not sure how any of this applies.

To swap my leather seats I had to go back maybe 5 times, but 3 different times I found matching seats incrementally .
Lucky you! I had to search far and wide to find what I did, and they are still about 3 hours away. That's why I'm trying to figure this out before I head there, to see which I bring back. I'll do the driver if I have to, it still better than mine. These are much higher than $60 too.:surprise:

To swap my leather seats I had to go back maybe 5 times, but 3 different times I found matching seats incrementally better, $60 for each seat, each time.

I ended up with seats at about 90% or better, finally.

I still came out WAY ahead cuz the dealership gave me a quote of $600 per seat..!!! :O

My starting seats looked as if a whole skeet team had emptied their surplus shotgun shells into them --they were absolutely horrid.

I replaced the rear bolsters, too, and the bench & backrest.

Actually can switch them in the 96 V6, just did mine this weekend. The back swaps easily, but on the seat part you have to remove the cushion from the metal pan. Just undo the hog rings and the foam will pull right out, no need to remove fabric. I replace the hog rings with zip ties. Whole thing takes about 2 hours from seats out to seats in. Also great time to clean the car floor!
