Unless you are driving with your eyes closed, or are so uncoordinated that you can't utilize your windshield wiper switch while operating your vehicle, this is the dumbest damn thing I have ever seen. And if you are in either of the above two categories, you need to park it and take a bus.
the only reason i bring this up is because my friend has a BMW and he has something like this in his car and he loves it but his came stock from the factory with it I just didn't know they made them aftermarket.
some of the lexus SUVs come stock with them too, I know its not Lexus' saying, (its GMCs) but "its not more than you need, just more than your used to"..
the same could be said about auto-headlights, if your to stupid to turn your lights on that you need a computer to do it for you you shouldn't be driving. but yet I loved having auto headlights..
I have rain sensing wipers on my BMW and I love it. I senses the tinyest drops of water on the windshield and deploys the wipers. Also, when it really starts coming down, it will increase the speed of the wipers also. Love it.
With the laws in Calfornia now it needs to turn on your lights as well. It's now against the law to drive in conditions that require use of your windshield wipers without your lights on... obviously that doesn't mean the spray from the sprinklers hitting your window for those that want to poke fun.
The Acura MDX has these also, and its kinda nice here in the land of continual wet fog. My commute is either up the edge of the ocean cliff, or up a canyon road. Not a big deal to turn the wipers on, but its one less thing to worry about I guess.
I personally felt they were too sensitive, came on too soon, but I don;t mind a wet windshield, it usually beats a streaky mess.
