I just got 4 new tires and a 4 wheel alignment on Friday. On Saturday me and a buddy start in on replacing the front brake pads. What do we find...GREASE everywhere in the wheel well and on the caliper and strut...CV joint split in half it's now two pieces...LOL...this is the passenger side outer cv boot. Ok so I need to replace the boot but from reading on here I may be better off just buying a remanufactured axle assembly and start fresh. Ok my quesiton is this, will the alingment I just got be thrown out of whack when I get a new passenger axle installed?

Suggest changing the complete axle. Might compare prices on new vs. rebuilt; I have found some deals at times. If DIY, read up on changing the passengers side axle. It has an intermediate bearing that can be difficult to remove. The hub nut is torqued to around 217 ft-lbs requiring a large bar to remove and install. Changing the axle should not effect alignment.

Although I do not fully understand the geometry of the Camry suspension, it is my understanding that replacing the driveshaft, CV joints, and boots does not affect the alignment on front wheel drive cars. Fwiw, I replaced the axle on my wife's Acura and the alignment is still true.
