Heya all... confusing, I'm a member of this forum since October of 2003. Didnt own any Toyota then... oh well.

Anyhow I do own one now. A 1993 Toyota 'Seo!!! Okay okay... I own three now hehehe :D

Just a few questions for you guys...

Now the big question is this: what can I swap into it to make it a faster car without having to spend oodles and doodles amount of Franklins and Grants for it?

What is the biggest 'yota engine that will fit into the engine bay without extensive modification? Extensive means major cutting and wielding.

What happen to paseopimp... he had some very interesting link that I cant find anywhere else...

What is the Jap version of this car? Will that engine be a drop in?

You see the direction I'm heading in... any info would be be greatly appreciated

Doh... now I remember why I was a member back in 2003... my brother owned a 90-ish Camery and we where trying to figure why the some of the power option was not working... heh.

Some Info you Need

The most popular is the Toyota Starlet (ep82). It comes with a 1.3 liter turbo charged engine. It gets about 135hp. It is a direct swap (drop in) due to it being part of the "E" class of engines, however, you do need to rewire some of the ECU. The Paseo comes stock with a 5EFE and the Starlet has a 4EFTE (the -T- is for turbo). There is also a 5EFHE (the -H- stands for high output) and it gets only about 115hp.

The 5efe gets about 90-100 hp depending on the year you have.
The 5efhe gets about 115 hp and was partially used in the Toyota Cynos (JDM version of Paseo) and in the Toyota SERA (limited edition Gullwing version made from 1992 to 1997).

It is best if you can purchase a front clip (the entire front section of the car from behind shifter to the front bumper. Worth the money and will save you time. It will come with everything you need and more. The Starlet front clip can range between $1000 to $1800 (due to shipping charges and supplier). The cheapest I have seen is $1200. But that was with me picking it up myself. I got my Toyota Levin front clip for $1400.

I am building up a 1994 Toyota Paseo in my brother's memory. My brother Eric was killed in a car accident. So I have taken his car under my ownership and am finishing what he started. I am swapping a JDM Toyota Levin AE-101 SilverTop 20v 4age into his Paseo and installing TODA Racing internals. It comes with 160hp stock along with Individual throttle bodies, however, you do need to fabricate the engine mounts and modify the ECU. But everyone tells me it is worth it.

If you need anything else as far as info or whatever just ask anyone on here or email me at Jace1919@hotmail.com and I will be more than happy to help with what I can.
