Hey how much did you spend on your SE grille? I've been looking to switch to an SE grille for my '11 LE myself but they're kind of pricey. The OEM SE grilles for the 2010s and 2011s have been going for over $165 on eBay the past couple of months

Your car looks great! A long list of mods you have there. I really like the IS-F shift knob you installed.

I'm out of the retrofitting hobby... I gave most of my extra Gen6 headlights and parts to the trash can to make space in my garage. But I did save some of the internal white clips, projectors, and brackets - just in case. If you decide to build your own retrofit and find yourself needing parts, let me know - I just might have what you need.

I also shorten my shifter, I'll get pics of that too.

hey that guy jay is a really good friend with my guys over at autocouture in fairlawn...my friend showed me these lights and i had no idea they were yours! i want him to retro fit mine like that!

Haha really that's what sup man. I basically spent the whole day in Paterson, NJ on Saturday. I guess it really is a small world. haha Who showed you my lights? Jay is a great guy and knows his shit.

:thumbsup:Looks great!
Thanks John, couldn't have done it without your blue painted shields. :) Thanks for everything too.

Wow your headlights are looking real real nice!

Can I ask how much you paid?

Btw is it just me or does the waffle lens cover on the turn signal look soo out of place.
When I did my black housing I took out the cover and never put it back in.
I wish I had a clear lens for the turn signal..

But yeah the cutoff looks real nice with the beam output, go to a bigger empty parking lot and let's see it light up the place man.

Yes pics on the shortening the shifter, you know it
Thanks bro, man I love these retrofits.

He originally quoted me 250 for the retrofit, 100 for the blackout on the housing, and 50 for the projector tweaking. Although, since he never retrofitted a Camry headlight before, it took him longer then expected. He charges $80/hr and I was waiting there for most of the day, so I was glad he hooked me up and charge me what he quoted. After it was all said and done I gave him 450. Practically took the whole day and I got there at 9am. Took me like 1.5-2 hrs to get there. He even threw in extra sealant too. I washed my car yesterday after I installed them and everything was all good :) He is all around awesome guy and knows his shit too. He does other work too besides retrofits, like 3m vinyl wrapping and etc. Breakdown of how much my retrofit costed:

Used my OEM headlights-$0
Retrofit labor- $450
Used Morimoto 3five ballast-$80
RX330 Projectors-$100
TSX-R Clear lens, Osram D2S bulbs, Painted blue RX330 shields- $60 (Bought all of these items from John aka LNGasMan, he had extra parts laying around and hooked me up!)
Morimoto relay harness- $35

So if you add that up I guess i paid $725 for the my retrofit. Keep in mind I bought everything used from hidplanet besides the morimoto relay harness I bought new from TRS. So it would have costed more. :) Overall I am very happy with this setup.

I don't think the turn signal cover looks funny, I had him paint the inside black too, and left half of it chrome reflector so it looks smoked. :) So yours had no covers at all?

Yeah I love the cutoff and light out put. It has the color flicker effect when I hit a bump. :)

Finally the pics of the shorten shifter with lexus is-f shift knob. :)

To me, the turn signal lens cover just makes the car look so old lol.
I wish they did a better job of hiding it like on every other car including gen6.5
Image

The halos came with a clear lens cover.
Image

So when I black housing'd my set, i left the clear reflectors out.
My car's in the shop right now getting the bumper and lip repainted but the closest picture i have is
Image

But i mean it's just cause i have OCD about these things and it's just my preference,
and either way

IT'S ALL GOOD :) :chug:

I love the blue shield, really clean at night.
and the IS-F knob is sweet!

let's get some videos of the light output from inside the car yes?:naughty:

#24 · (Edited)
Haha yeah I know what you mean bro, but it doesn't really bug me that much. ;) I can't wait to get my RKS kit and have it installed. :) I have ocd about some things too, so I know where you're coming from. Yeah the blue shield is nice, but that's not what makes the blue cutoff. The clear lenses and proper spacing of the shield is what makes the cutoff colors. ;)That's more for looks.

Your next project should be a retrofit! :)

I don't have a good camera to catch all the light output. Pics never do justice, you just have to see it in real life. haha I'll try to take a video from inside the car though.

Thanks for the compliments.

my friend marco that works at autocouture showed me these

#27 ·
so jay did everything in one day?

#29 ·
yes, he had never did a retrofit on a camry before so it took longer then expected, but at the end of the day I left with my retrofit. Bro it was a longgg day but it was worth the wait. haha I brought in my OEM headlights, because I currently had a retrofit installed on my car already. But if you want him to take the bumper off and use the headlights on your car it will be another $80. I'm very happy with the results :)

Lol probably notttt.

I have many many projects coming up before Toyotafest
well not many many "projects" but there are going to be some changes.:naughty:

And sorry for not knowing what the blue shield does lol no clue :disappoin on retrofit stuff.

but really interested in seeing the light output from the inside of the car!
Haha I wish i could go to toyotafest. :\ can't wait to see what you got planned bro ;)

It's all good haha, we all have gray areas in some subjects.

I'll try to get a video but it will probably won't do justice since I don't have a good camera. :/

Haha thanks bro! You definitely need to hop on the retrofit club, once you go retrofit you will never go back to halogen. It's one of the best mods you can do to your car, benefits in various ways. ;)

I'm jealous of your coilovers, haha.

Yeah I can't wait to have the kit painted and installed.

Ooo rk sports kit? primered though right? not painted yet :p
yes sir, and yup not painted yet. Getting them painted and installed next week. I'll post pics once its installed :naughty:

Your car has a clean classy look to it, I am looking forward to seeing your kit painted and installed, your car is going to look great with the kit, although it does already !!!

2 more teaser pics. The guy painting it is taking his time to do a great job on it. The rear valance and front valance was bent due to how they packaged it to ship. So he had to use heat to straighten it out over night, and then now he is in the process of prepping it for painting. Also found some molding flaws that he had to fix too. I can't complain he's charging me 400 to paint and install it. :) If it goes accordingly, I should have the kit installed on Sunday, I can't wait!! :p
