About two days ago while driving with heat on had A/C compressor engaged as well compressor suddenly kicked out and light never turned back solid. Once car turns off and back on compressor kicks in for like half a second fans cycle engines revs up then everything stops and light goes back to blinking. No visible leaks from compressor or lines

That behavior could be because of being low on Freon. It’s normal to lose a couple % per year. So if it’s never been recharged, that’s probably what’s wrong.

I don't recommend going to the parts store and trying to use a top up can when you don't know what you're doing.

It's best to get a shop to check pressure with proper gauges.

Also check the tightness of the AC belt, it might be as little as that.

Above advise is good - compressor will kick off when either LOW or TOO HIGH on the Freon charge. Belt being loose, as stated above will not allow the compressor to turn at high enough RPM's to maintain proper pressure. I would also not advise to use an AutoParts store top-off can - you can actually make the problem worse or damage your compressor. Then you will REALLY HAVE TO PAY!! Good luck!

It’ll come back. Mine did that for a while and eventually the ac compressor died. Had to get it replaced. It would work sometimes then not. The more stress it was under like 100 degree days it just ended it. Your radiator cap has nothing to do with your ac system.
