Well today I was coming home in the fast lane at about 90mph when I look up past the truck in front of my and see a Chevy SUV spin!!
About 50 feet in front of me is an early 90's F-150, he locks his and I jump on my brakes with every bit of strength my leg will give me!!
the F-150 just barely missed the suv and I stopped before hitting the F-150. At first I was really impressed with the way my car stopped but then I was worried!! From my understanding when a non-ABS braking system is up to par it should be able to lock the wheels up at full braking power. (Even though you really don't want the brakes to lock up in a panic braking situation, bacause it increases stopping distance.) My question is what could keep my brakes from being at 100% I have the GT-s rear disc conversion including brake booster, master cylinder, new rear lines, proportioning valve, pads and rotors that are no more then 3 months old and all new Toyota DOT 3 brake fluid!! The olny thing that hasn't beeen changed is the hard brake lines!! Am I worrying too much or is there a problem in my braking system?
