I have 2004 Camry Le and the breaks are squeaking and squealing when I go to stop or slow down at lower speeds. I put new pads and rotors on the front about a month ago. Does any one know how to stop this?

Squeak/squeal can also be the shims and or rubbing of the pad itself with not enough grease. Easy things to fix first. I had this when I first started DIY and mechanic did not add proper grease between pad and shim. Saw that upon taking out for inspection. Shim got moved and was actually diagonal though brakes were working fine. At the time Added CRC orange stuff that says used to quiet shims. Never used that thing again. Since DIY, proper grease, cleaning, etc no issues. (Yeah, so mechanic did a worse job than me, go figure or "sigh").

When pads squeal on pad surface to rotor, have also noticed rotor surface not smooth and pad surface will show roughness consistent with it (like MountainHandyman mentioned semi-metallic pads). Better quality pads like Akebono do help and good rotors too. Better to check other hardware and rubber parts too that lead to this ... Grease, rust, etc all stuff Greasy mentioned above.

"spray quiet lube" ? Havent heard of that, maybe I overlooked that thing on the shelf. Brake quiet was a tube of gel stuff. You have to remove the pad and apply that between pad and shim. After that it becomes hard and sticks the shim. Kinda like silicone adhesive in hardware store. Maybe next time I am in the store, I will check that out just for awareness. Good to know. Other than brake cleaner, I didnt know people spray something else on the rotor or contact surface of brake pad (which gets on when pad touches rotor). Ouch, I guess each to their own.

Edit: I see it when google. Ok I remember that now but didnt realize it lube stuff as that was right next to cleaner spray. Glad I was dumb in that sense. Wonder if I would have tried that many years ago when started DIYing. Glad I didnt. Haha
