I've noticed over the last couple of days when I put the car into D or R, and take my foot off the brake, there is a buzzing noise somewhere behind the speedometer. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas? I own a 2018 Camry SE.

Even I notice it now. Didn't notice it before as I had music on but now when i take my leg off the brake, I can hear the buzzing noise which dies down over time but when you put you foot in the brake again and take it off, the buzzing starts again.
I notice a sound, can't pinpoint it being from behind the speed-o-meter, but rather the front left side. I thought it was the air vent, but no, so maybe it is in the speed-o-meter area. Coincidentally, I had the same noise in my 2012 FR-s. Fixed it with an exhaust.
Similar problem in our 2009 highlander. Turned out to be a check valve in the brake booster. Was fixed under warranty, never came back. This is the TSB#: T-SB-0229-09 regarding similar issue for the 2008- 2010 highlander. It could be the same problem. Just chiming in and hope this TSB helps for fast diagnosis.
I have 2018 Camry SE and I am currently experiencing the same problem as mentioned above. I took it to the dealership and after 4 hours, the tech said that it was part of vehicle characteristic. In other words, they dont know why
I'm glad to see someone else experiencing this. I thought I was losing my mind. Our 2018 Camry SE has about 800 miles on it. I noticed the noise almost immediately. I've not had time to address it at the dealership yet.
I came back to this thread because I remember seeing and just started hearing the same noise. The idea about the brake booster makes sense since there seems to be a relationship between the buzzing noise and using the "hold" feature. If I hold the pedal manually sometimes its quiet, but as soon as I push it far enough for the hold feature and let up it starts buzzing. Once you drive for a little the buzzing subsides.
I'm at work now but when I get home I will listen to the booster check valve with a stethoscope and see if I can verify that's it. (Cant believe I'm doing this on a brand new car...)
Went to the dealership, test drove another SE with only 4 miles on ODO and it has the same issue. I realized if you pump the brakes at slow speed, the noise gets louder. As of now, it seems like there is no fix from Toyota other than turn the music volume up
Hi, has anyone able to get this fixed. Has this anything to do with the new TSB that came out regarding the Brake Assist vacuum pump???
Toyota says camry produced between Oct 5 to Nov 3 are affected. Mine was manufactured in Nov 17, does not say exact date though. Can someone else post the date of manufacture also .
