Has anyone ever done a side by side of a GTS catalytic converter and the XRS one?

I'm slowly collecting 2zz bits and pieces.

(and yes, I know 2zz swap isn't worth it etc etc... )

The only thing I did to my corolla xrs was the axle back muffler and tip. It’s been some time since I’ve heard the celica gts with a full TRD or stock exhaust.

Corolla XRS to me is more restricted. The stock muffler sounded just like the pedestrian corolla. Quiet. Any exhaust other than stock will be better.

My question for you is, will you go to a full 3” or leave as is on OD as stock.

I have no idea where I may end up with the exhaust eventually, at the moment I'm just trying to source parts for when I do the swap.
I know the celica catalyst and the xrs catalyst are different, but I don't know if those differences would prohibit it from being used on a Corolla. So far finding an XRS Cat has been tricky, compared to the Celica ones. I don't live in an emissions check area so I'm not worried about that, basically want to bolt something on and be able to go.

If you don’t need the cat, then just do it all. Are you going to install a Ppe exhaust manifold? To get the best sound, you will want the exhaust to be 1 diameter from the end of the collector of the midpipe. You’ll get drone with say a 2.5” to 3” muffler.

I assume the exhaust manifold back is the same as the standard Corolla. The only part difference is the tail pipe. All other models has a baffle muffler. According to toyodiy, there’s no listed part number for the muffler.

17448-22030 was an option for S and LE. Port installed chrome tip exhaust. My corolla xrs didn’t have this. Only when I installed the TRD axle back muffler did I get a tail pipe tip.
