I recently got my car scanned because I was getting low fuel mileage. There is no engine light on the car and no issues as such. Mechanic scanned the car and got P1604, U0100, U0101 and U0151 codes. Mechanic has cleared the codes and asked me to get a rescan done later. Not sure how serious is the issue and how to nail the problem. It seems there is a network problem and P1604 could be because of multiple issues. What’s the best and easiest way to diagnose and pin point the issue?

Check your battery voltage and grounds.
Consider buying a basic bluetooth scanner preferably one than can provide live data.
I've read where members on the forum thrown those codes with a inter-mitten O2 sensor or a sticky shift solenoid.
Basically there's not enough symptoms or data to chase.

Thanks. Battery voltage and ground is fine, I just replaced the battery to a new one a month back. Old battery was leaking and had carbon around the terminals. Could that be the reason for the code, I cleaned everything with the new battery. How to identify if I have an intermittent O2 sensor of if shift solenoid if sticky?

Without the engine light illuminating, I am struggling to understand how your fuel consumption rate could be so high.

May be that it's a combination of driving conditions, especially with short trips having to run on a cold engine.

Is it hilly where you are now driving?

A bad thermostat or temperature sensor are things that could increase fuel use rate considerably without tripping the engine light (fuel mixture richness and engine rpm's would both be increased by the powertrain computer).

Hi,
Update is that I have done a live scan and it seems all the sensors are working including O2 and temperature sensor. Still the fuel consumption is really high it’s giving my 380KM on a full tank of 50 litres. Can’t make out what could be the reason. Mechanic is saying that may be the gear shifting is the problem but he is not sure. Any ideas how to pin point the issue?
