Hello everyone, I would like to thank whose have helped me before and whose going to help me :p

I have a Toyota Camry 1997 LE, and it has a factory cd player with cassette, but the problem is about playing my own created cd music. It works with original cds, but with one were I burned, it doesn't! the first cd I burned works well, which is maxell music cd-r, but after that, I couldn't play any more. I bought an original music cd, and it really works well, but when I burn another cd by my self, I can't?

Have any one has this problem before, and what is the solution?

Thank you guys, and I appreicate your help

Regards,

Ensure that you are burning the CDs correctly.

Try gettting some better discs. Maxell are usually not known to be the best. Better brands are Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim.

If that doesn't work, consider replacing your stereo. If you want to keep the stock look, you can get a stereo from a Scion that also plays MP3 and it will fit directly into your car if you don't have the JBL Premium sound system.

factory cd players dont do to well with burnt cds the only solution is to buy a aftermarket cd player
thank you, but as you know, I would keep the current player because it has good sound.

I will try to find another brand cd, then after, I will change it :)

thank you again

Yeah, get an aftermarket one, especially one that plays MP3 CDs. You can put about 12 CDs worth of songs on one MP3 CD.
well, it is good idea to buy one which is support mp3 files

thank you, I appreciated

Try to use lower speed (8X, 16X) to write the CD, and avoid using laptop CD-writer.

Popeye08 is correct. Slow down your burning. I have over 200 burned CD's and I have never had one that wouldn't play on any of my car's cd players and I have had 4 different ones. I have the old style 3 disc magazine cd player, made by Alpine, in my 94 Camry XLE and that still plays all my burned cd's. If I have time I burn my CD's at 2X or 4X speed; nothing faster.

Just as a test, I could take the cd(s) that aren't playing in your car and test them on another car cd player. This will isolate the problem to the cd's themselves or your car's cd player.

have you cleaned your cd player at all? That affects playback of lower quality burned cd's.

But all that aside, are you sure you've burnt cd's in music format and not MP3 format? Burner software gives you that option. your car will not play mp3 format or wma etc...formats.
Also some softwares ask you to finalize sessions/close cd. make sure you finalize the cd and close it (so no other tracks can be added).

If any of this confuses you, perhaps you could do a few trial and errors with different settings or utilize a help from your software.

If the car can play store bought cd's it'll play self burned ones. I know all my cars can.
Considering your's is a 97..perhaps a nice after market one or even a cheap aftermarket one would be nice. Sound quality definitely improves even with a 70 dollar clarion unit. haha

good luck!

Here's a suggestion, it might seem strange, but it kinda makes sense, and it solved any problems I've had with playing burned cd's in a car cd player. Make sure that the side of the cd that you write on/put label on, is not light or transparent enough to show any light through. I was using blank cd's that were very cheap, and was told that when the laser goes to pick up the data, if the burned side is not reflective enough, that the beam will try to shine through the cd, rendering it useless. I've also been told that after about 2000, when cd burners became more widespread, that the eye in cd players were changed to accept more burned cds and take the transparancy into account.

I'm not a cd-scientist, so I could be slightly wrong, but it was told to me and when I switched cds, everything i burned worked in everything.
