I need the IMEI number to renew my WIFI with Verizon. I went through the steps that were posted but I have no WIFI setup since it was already set up and the trial ran out. Verizon won't give it to me for some unknown reason. Is there any place else is it written down? I have been looking all over the web and forums. Any help would be welcomed.

If you are signing up to get Wi-Fi in your toyota for the first time, you follow the procedures that other people have submmitted above. However, if you have had Wi-Fi in the car previously, and you cancelled it for whatever reason, or you sold the car and had it removed by your carrier when you sold it, the process above will no longer presents you with the option to sign up for Wi-Fi and, consequently, it will not provide a screen that shows what the IMEI is. The issue I am also having is, how to find out what this EMEI number is at this point. Verizon didn't know how to figure out how to get the IMEI number except by the process outlined above, which didn't work. They said to contact the dealer where I bought the car. My local Toyota dealer doesn't know how to do it and sent me to Toyota proper at their number, 800-331-4331. Following the prompts, it transfers you to Verizon, back where I started. I am now working with Verizon to see if a Verizon engineer can run a query against a month old backed up and restored database to see if they can see what the number was before I cancelled it in late December. Still not resolved. This issue would rear its head if 1.) the owner cancelled the service, then tried to restart it, and 2.) whenever the car was sold to another party, the new party wouldn't be able to see the IMEI on the used car. I even tried resetting the head unit to its factory settings, thereby deleting all the personal info, but that didn't fix the problem either. It just removed all my XM Radio presets and unpaired my phone, so I had to go through all those steps again to get them back. There has to be a better solution to locate the IMEI number. Anyone seen THIS issue before? Thanks.

Was anyone able to get wifi working after initial deactivation/trial ran out for awhile? I was able to find EMEI number by finding old emails from verizon when trial period was active. These emails contained the EMEI. Despite being on phone with Verizon for 2+ hours we were not able to re-activate wifi so it could be seen under the MENU-->Setup screen where it previously appeared. Also gave me repeated errors after pressing the "Wifi Sign Up" icon under "Apps."

Any other suggestions? Thanks.

This also happens if your car is not in cellular range when your annual subscription ends. It seems it tries to get a renewal message, and if that fails for a couple days, it shuts off your WiFi, and that's it. Your WiFi setup menu is gone, your IMEI number is unavailable, and Verizon can't help.

I eventually got reset by dropping my car off at the dealer for 24 hours, and lost all my settings.

Toyota also deprecated the Entune App, and Verizon never got the message.

SOLVED (iPhone & Rav4 Hybrid)

Hi I have a 2019 rav4 hybrid. My trial Wi-Fi ended and I could not find the IMEI number to reactivate. I just got back from the dealership after they helped me solve this.

1. You have to download the Toyota app, not the Toyota Entune app. The mechanic told me Toyota doesn't use Entune app anymore. In the apple app store, Toyota app is the red color app with a big Toyota logo in the middle. Here's a picture from the app store.

2. You have to make an account in the Toyota app and follow the steps to connect your car.

3. Connect your phone to the car via Bluetooth while the Toyota app is open on your phone. When you're done, the app will confirm your phone is connected to your car.

4. Press the APPS button on the right side of your car's head display unit. The APPS button is on the display unit, not the screen.

5. Click the WiFi app and you will get the following WiFi set up screen you've been looking for! This screen has the IMEI number on the bottom left of the screen. Here's a picture of my screen after the mechanic showed me how to do it:

FYI, as mentioned above, in many cases there is no WiFi Setup button on the App menu available, so step 5 is impossible to do. In that case, going to the dealer is your only option. There is no way to get the IMEI because there is no WiFi Setup, and without the IMEI you can't reset the WiFi. It's terrible software design. Catch 22.

Also this: If you have an older Toyota that uses the Entune app, the new Toyota app probably won't support your older car. I have to use two different apps, "Entune" for my 2017, and "Toyota" for my 2019. Don't get rid of Entune until you're sure that "Toyota" app works for you.

I recently bought a used 2015 camry. I am investigating how to enable remote start via fob. I discovered the IMEI number is given on a label near the VIN number on the door post of the driver's side front door! As I read this string going back into late 2021, I felt frustrated no one else either discovered this or the dealerships didn't apparently know it> Sorry this reply is so late.

This is true on all Toyota vehicles new and used once the service has been activated the imei is no longer available the new 2023-2024 models never show it period if the hotspot was originally affixed to att here’s one solution before deactivated your service so you wifi account has a mobile associate number that matches your hotspot and connected services you can contact the carrier while it’s still active and get the imei associated with the mobile number used car buyers are out of luck unless this was previously provided deactivated accounts can get it but it takes some research buy the last carrier to figure it out carriers can someone look it up by vin
