if its only that cd its probably the cd. I know some new cd's have little lips on them and that might be the ticking you are hearing. Or the CD could be warped a little and is wobbling.

 

I get that once in awhile, but only on CD's that I have made myself. Reinserting them usually makes it work ok.

 

Manual says Error1 is a damaged or dirty CD. Suggests reinserting.
If that doesn't work, it suggests returning to the dealer.

However, it works when the unit is cold, only causing issues once hot.
And it plays fine in my daughter's Yaris.

I'm thinking there may be a prblm w/ the load mechanism or spindle that's not properly centering it, or with the laser head tracking.

Since it works cold, but after a full warm up reinserting doesn't solve the prblm, I suppose it could be the disk warming and warping, but it's odd it doesn't do that in my daughter's car. I guess I'll try some other pre-recorded CDs (the only other ones I tried were CD-Rs I recorded).

 

I have the 6-disk and I have noticed that CDs coming out of it after it has been playing are pretty toasty. I have been considering figuring out how to mount a muffin fan, like from a computer, up inside the dash to get some air circulation up there.

when mine dose it i just hit the front of the player and it works every time.

 

cd doesn't eject

I get the "READING DISK" message for a bit then the ERROR1 message. I try to eject the disk and the DISK IN display blinks for a bit but still nothing. Any suggestions?

Aftermarket radio. The only way to go.





You may want to look for one that plays 8-tracks and/or vinyl records.
