This has probably already been discussed, but I looked real quick and didn't find anything.

I saw in a couple pics that guys had swapped there stock antenna for the s2000 model. How easy is it to do this?

Also, is there a way to do a topic search on this forum and I cant find it?

There are many different types of antennas you can change to out there...pretty much as long as the threaded portions are the same you can switch to whatever you want. If it's not an S2000's actual antenna, it's probably just one of those "stubby" universal ones that is simply shorter that you can find all over eBay...I don't know that you actually need one specifically from an S2000. I used to have one of those, though the reception was terrible because it was so short. I have instead a paint-matched fin-style one like you tend to see on BMWs from the last 10 or so years.

As for searching on the forum, at the top right of the screen is a header full of links that I'm sure you're familiar with. One says "Search" and has a drop arrow next to it. From there you can search for a certain set of keywords, or you can go to an advanced search that lets you use keywords, search thread titles, search the text in entire threads, or search a specific section only (a good way to search the "For Sale" section of the forum without pulling up every single thread on the forum that mentions the part you're looking for).

If you don't care all that much about your original antenna and want to do it the super cheap way, get a tire valve stem cap, and a pair of diagonal cutters. Clip your antenna right where it starts to go from thick to the thin, spiraled portion. Stick the stem cap on top of there and either wedge it down or even glue it if you want. Presto, quick and dirty, and cheap as free.

Thanks for the help. Looks like I'm going to have to look into all the options more before I make a decision. I'm leaning more towards the fin-style. I hardly ever use the radio, so reception isn't a big deal.

Not sure how I missed the search tab. I was looking for a text box to type in and looked right past that tab.

No harm done. Now you know, right? Have fun with it!

There is a company that makes the fin-style antenna big enough to fit over our rather large antenna base. If you search for it on here you may find a thread from someone who has the antenna. Friends of mine dubbed it a "shark fin", so I got used to referring to it that way. Like you, I don't really use my radio much, so reception isn't important to me. It was one of the rare times that I went with form over function. That being said, the antenna that does come in the fin antenna is actually pretty good, and was much better than the stubby I bought...I don't even know where that thing is now.

The visual garage one looks the best but is quite pricey. I have a 3" stubby eBay antenna and it works flawlessly, 8 bucks. Or if you want a 10 cent stubby antenna take your stock one, cut off the top (thin) part and cap it off with a cap from a hardware store. I did that first, but it was still too tall for my liking.

Come to think of it, I've got a spare stock antenna I'll sell for cheap if you don't wanna cut the one on your Corolla

The shark fin might have to wait. I might go with one of the cheap stubby and see how I like that first. Planning on putting my money into other things on the car first. Bought caliper paint last night. Planning on changing transmission, steering, brake fluid and new spark plugs.
