Clicking noise during acceleration

Hey guys,

I just got a 2019 Corolla Hatchback SE CVT not even a week ago and I'm loving it. Today as I was cruising around town, I noticed that a clicking noise during acceleration started to develop. It's happens at ~10-15 mph @ 1000 rpm accelerating from a stop. I have 550 miles clocked. I tried checking the heat shield for the exhaust pipe but no luck. I was wondering if anyone has the same issues, and if so, what did you do to solve it? I

Thanks!

I would take it back to the dealer and ask to investigate. If it was built before the CVT recall, the repair may have not been done...

At low speed is when the gears switch from the gear to CVT, so noise could be coming from that. Otherwise, clicking is typically comes from CV joints or bearings...

I don't think it's coming from the fixed first gear because I used the manual mode and the sound happens before I shift it to the CVT. There are usually two clicks and it also happens sometimes when I'm breaking. Also, when I'm stopped and shift from D to R, and vice versa, there is a jolt (not that hard though) and the clicks happen too.

Hmmmm, I couldn't hear it at 2:03 :\ There was something at 2:07?

To the earlier comment, pinging usually happens at hard acceleration or heavy load, you're barely going over 2K RPM.

To me, based on the timing and your video, it seems that it happens during the gear -> CVT switch (on upshift) and possibly on downshift CVT -> gear, as you are slowing down...

Gear is used for 1st and for R so there may be some noise associated with physical engagement of the gear and disengagement of the CVT...

I’ve been having this issue for the last month. I literally went to two dealerships and they told me the technician couldn’t hear it, even tho when I drive it all day I hear the noise... supposedly they brought two techs and two cars and that it makes the same noise and it’s a characteristic the car has. Which I believe is bull...
have you gotten it fixed ? Or figured out why?

I did find the source of the problem, actually. Here's a video of where the sound is coming from:

Here's an image of which component the part is coming from. I know I wiggled the clamp in the video but the sound is actually coming from this joint.

When you shift into park, shift into drive, or accelerate from a stop, the engine moves, causing this component to move and make that clicking noise. What I did to fix the problem was to just ignore it. Initially, I thought it was a transmission issue but once I found out it wasn't, it made me feel a lot better driving this car and soon enough, the sound was gone. This was about after a month of ownership at 2000 miles.

My 19 6M has the exact same problem. Appeared at 6 months and 4K miles of ownership. Once the colder weather crept in the squeak developed. Video above is spot on. The A/C line's plastic bracket that is attached to the engine mount creeks upon acceleration from a dead stop as the engine moves. Once the car is warmed and the engine bay is hot the squeak disappears as I presume the plastic bracket warms up.

Just going to ignore it while I hope Toyota develops a better bracket / TSB. Had the noise documented at the dealership during my 1st service.

Hello.

I would like to know what happened to those who have the click problem, I have a 2021 Corolla Hatchback with the CVT transmission and it has the same problem, I started hearing the sound at 5000 km

Mine makes two to three clicks when accelerating, the sound of the clicks is lighter if I have a smooth acceleration and louder if the acceleration is more pronounced.

I only need to press lightly on the throttle to hear the click.
