Somebody rear ended my car last Friday and this is the results, while I'm waiting my appointment in the shop that is going to take a look at it and see with the insurance company how much will cost to fix it I'm a little worry the car suffered frame damage.

T-boned?? Sorry I'm not a native English speaker.

Well the shop is the Toyota dealer here in Costa Rica, the have their own shop certified by Toyota Japan on repair techniques, procedures and best practices what ever the hell that means. Good thing is the whatever the cost is, insurance pays 100% not sure if they totaled the car

Your right! However a good body shop can straighten/repair the rear rails. The rear(shocks back) is important, but will not affect the way the car tracks. As long as all safety, equipment is returned to OE specs, it's not the end of the world if it's off by a fraction of an inch. You might notice a slight, difference underneath, but not outside. But then again, your estimate might come back a little high, and ins might total it. But I doubt it!

It is "frame" (this and most of the new cars are unibody) damage from now you're going to experience problems with the thread wear of the rear wheels, suspension problems, problems with humidity coming from the trunk and goes on get another car and if you want a safer body frame the corolla unfortunately is the least of your choice:disappoin

My wife was rear end it about 9 years ago by a Honda CRV at that time I had a 2004 BMW 3 series my son was on the back with the car seat, the Honda has the bumper, crack in two, the headlights broken and the radiator broke my bimmer just a small scratch in the rear bumper and nothing else it is a tough decision don't get me wrong I love my corolla but I know if I get into an accident specially here in South Florida with all those Ford F-150 and SUV's that will be the end of my car if I can walk away!!!!!!

Ok so here is a little update.

Took the car to the dealership and got the estimate, having everything fixed and painted will be 2.500 us dollars, this is for hand work only, I still need to hear from the insurance company about how much will it be for the parts needed, in here the insurance buys the parts and give them to the shop. A quick look in the internet suggest that parts is going to be at least another 2k US dollars.
