Hi all. Sorry if this is not the right place. I have a Toyota Corolla 2011 Diesel. And I am having a trouble. Today , my fuel warning ocurred and i went to gas station. My Cruise Range was showing 35km. I bought some fuel. My fuel warning stopped and fuel display started to display 2 bars. But my Cruise Range didn't change. Yet , sameday i bought diesel again twice as i bought before. My fuel tank indicator showed 3 bars but my Cruise Range didn't changed again and kept decreasing. Right now , my fuel tank indicator shows 2 bars and no warning. but cruise range is 0km. Which should I believe ?

Sorum,

Sorry I can't help much more than this, but we don't have diesel Corollas in the States, and we also have a different type of trip meter. I am assuming the bars you refer to are similar to bars on a cell signal, more bars is more fuel in the tank.

Your range could be effected by numerous variables. If you are not moving, your range will not change after you have fueled up, I believe. Also could be effected by your avg mpg/kpl however you measure economy.

Perhaps you could reset your range/trip/avg readouts by pushing and holding the button on each readout. This would let your car start fresh and give you a better readout.

I would trust the fuel tank indicator before I would trust the range indicator.

You need to fill up or add more then a little fuel for the range to change. Just get in the habit of filling up every time. All cars seem to be like this. My Prius works the same way with a digital fuel display but most any newer car won't change the range with only a little fuel added. Hope this helps, but there is nothing wrong with the car. ;)

thanks for all answers :) So i am trusting the analog fuel display. which shows 2 bars right now (Which is approx. 1/6 of my fuel tank). I am going to buy fuel today but because the Cruise Range was 0km , i was terrified like "Now it's going to stop... oh no right now stop... so its going to stop ? did it stop ?" It is evantually a great heart attack cause :D We have lots of diesel cars here because the liter price of gas is 3 USA dollars. And the average salary is 300 dollars. (Yeah nice country isn't it?) Thanks for all answers :)

When the range says "0" you still have about 2 gallons of fuel in the reserve part of your tank. Your manual will give you the exact amount. It's just telling you that it's time to fill up. ;)
