On the platinum models that have the digital review Toyota has apparently removed it due the chip and supply chain shortages. They have also lowered the price to reflect this. Does anyone use the digital review mirror?

I have had to use it once or twice, so I know it comes in handy so I am not sure I really want to upgrade to a 2022 now. lol

I use it all the time since the camera uses a wide angle lens I find it useful on the highway in prevision of changing lines. (not that I only rely on that but I use it before putting the flashers on ... )
It takes time to get used to it but once done, I realy prefer it. The only downside I found is that when driving the city at a stop, you will find the cars in your back to look way bigger ! But the funny thing is that you can see better what they are doing in their car :p
Also when the trunk is full, this is super handy to see what is going on.

I saw that they stopped installing it in the platinum now because of the shortage but I'm sure you'll be able to install it after once everything goes back to some sort of "normal" !

Toyota sells it for $2700.

Also, it's not at all clear whether you just need this one part, or whether they'll be removing the second camera sensor in the back of the vehicle, in which case restoring it would just be too expensive and difficult.

If you're buying the 2022 Platinum, it's safe to assume you won't be able to restore the digital rear view mirror. Toyota isn't offering rain checks or assurances so don't assume otherwise.
