Disable Auto Headlights

Hey all,

The auto headlights (especially on the interior) are driving me nuts. I can turn on the exterior lights manually by rotating the headlight select switch all the way, but the interior lights don't follow suit unless the sensor says so. I also can't just have the position lights on (all exterior lights except the headlights) like I can on almost every other car I've owned including older toyotas. The only changes I can make in techstream are the sensor sensitivity to light, but that doesn't help with the interior lights. Anyone had success in converting the auto headlights to manual?

Sorry man the auto headlights don't bother people? (Myself included)
I guess I just don't understand the problem...

Two things I can think off off the top of my head is either cover the light sensor so it's always dark.
OR
Put an LED on the sensor and use Sugru to seal the LED to the sensor. Then put the LED on a switch so you can control if it's on or off via switch.

That's all I got....

Issue is interior and exterior. I can't manually dim the interior lights to the headlight on setting (for lack of a better way to describe it...when the rear illumination for all controls comes on) nor can I have the interior lights on bright without turning off the DRLs.

I have manual climate control, so I'm not too worried about it messing with that, it just irks me that I can't have the lights where I want them versus what the computer says. There's seemingly always weird lighting situations where want the interior lights to be at a certain setting. Turning the brightness rheostat only affects the interior lights for headlights on or off modes, not the entire spectrum. I messed with the sensitivity of the photocell, but that still doesn't give me manual control of all the lights. Would just replacing the hardware to the base model change any of the light settings? I'm not sure how it's all wired.

Nope I have Base, and it works exactly the same. Thanks for reminding me @sweeneyp I don't have Auto Air Control on mine (base) so I forgot about that. But looks like OP does not have it either so that solution would work for him lol
