Anyone know how I can do this? Don't want to debate whether or not I should do it, just want to know if and how it is possible.

I don't quite understand your question...Disable DRL? Isn't it just turn it to the OFF position using the signal stalk? :whatthe:

You could be absolutely right ... I guess before I asked that question I should have read the owners manual:wiggle:

That will only turn off the low beams at night, if it is daytime your DRL's would be on unless you manually turn the headlights on. Other than a computer/dealer change or finding the fuse/relay I don't know how to disable them.

Wireless, I just went out to my car to double check.
OFF position=all light are off at all time.
DRL position=If bright daylight then your low beams are off and DRL are on.
If dark enough then your low beams are on and DRL are off.
Headlight position= Low beams are on (you do this on a foggy day to force the low beam
to be on and DRL to be off eventhough it bright outside)

So if Watchcrazy wants to disable the DRL, he has to options:
1. Turn it to OFF position.
2. Turn it to Headlight position.

Its the same on mine. :)

you need a manual to operate the headlights? :ugh3:

OFF = means Off (nothing's on) ;)
No ... I just assumed that like my previous car that the DRLs were always on and there was no way to turn them off. From what I have seen that is the norm .... :D

at off the DRL's are still on....go start up your car...they will be off...put the car into gear and let it move it bit..put it back in park and the DRL's will come on...

thats the great thing about the 07's - you have total control over the DRLs :naughty:
Maybe I should read the manual .... might be more stuff in there I need to know - hahahahaha

alright maybe they don't make this clear enough in the owner's manual, but in the 07's there's 4 settings...

OFF - all lights off, including DRLs, and will not automatically engage
AUTO - low-beams engage automatically in dark conditions, and disengage in bright conditions... when low-beams are disengaged, DRLs are engaged
â—Ź - DRLs, turn signals, parking lights, tail lights, license plate
LOW BEAMS

Come on Guys......Can you read your owners manual???????????

Canadians get no control over DRL's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

U.S. drivers do.

Turn the switch to DRL off and DRL's will be off!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stop the circle jerk!!!!!!!!!

If U.S. owners want the DRL's permanently off, and want to leave the light switch in AUTO, go to the dealer and have them switch the DRL's to permanently off with their intelligent tester.

Yeah ... I guess we could do some work and stop surfing the web :)

If you find the relay for the DRLs (and a wiring diagram for switch, of course) you ahould be able to replace the relay with a simple jumper with an in-line fuse between the power in for the headlights and the power out to the headlights, eliminating the switch for the DRLs.

The relay likely has 5 prongs, and you will essentially be juming only 2 of these.

Then you can easily just plug the relay back in if you have a change of heart.

Maybe I'm showing my old-ness here at the ripe old age of 28, but why exactly would you want to turn off the DRL's? They're a safety feature ,and a totally unobtrusive one. I just don't get it.

No, law states the low beams to be on with fog lights, you would have to figure a wiring mod to give continuous juice to the lights and let the switch control them on or off.

not true, in my camaro and previous grand am i was able to have only my parking lights on with my fog lights.

DRL Forced on mode

Option 1
Replace light stalk with correct version. IE: US or Canadian. $120.00 plus labor.

Option 2
Drill a slot in light stalk rotating switch. Then drill a hole for a pin. If it is installed properly, the “OFF” function will not be accessible (Canadian Legal). Good mechanical fabrication skills required, could look or operate bad or might damage light stalk. (Then see option 1.):disappoin

Option 3
Fabricate a terminal end on a short piece of wire. The terminal must fit under the nut (a ground point) at the top of the junction block panel located behind the change drawer to the left of the steering wheel.Pull on the change drawer panel and it will open, giving you access to the junction block just mentioned. The connectors are well identified.Connect the new “Ground” wire to the wire on connector E7 pin 21 [A]. {Auto DRL will always be activated.} [A] = Auto DRL enable circuit connection. The best thoughts on what will occur with the auto always activated, in the dark, parking light only function will not turn off the headlights. In the day light, if the headlight function is activated on the stalk, the headlights will work on low beam and DRL will also be on the high beam lamps. All of the scenarios involve “Daytime or Night time” of the auto function and where the switch is positioned on the light stalk.

(I foresee a few unique lighting “features” for your LE.) :whatwhat:

Option 1 corrects all problems!!!:)
