i bought a 00 camry cargo net off of ebay....

i got it, came with 2 screws to bolt into the trunk....problem is..in my trunk, there's no factory location for the bolts. and i don't know where exactly i should drill as it seems cutting any part will open a hole into the outside world from the trunk.

where are YOUR cargo nets hanging? where am i supposed to install mine?

Do you not have all the plastic parts inside your trunk? I would assume the two little hooks near the trunk lid...

For the 4th generation camry the hooks screw into the trunk lining. They're on the edge of the cover on about the same level as the tail lights. If you're unsure about where they go, just remove the trunk lining.

i've checked the possible places..there's a black plastic "screw" there.

when i remove it, there's no "thread" for the cargo net's screw to lock into... it's just a plain hole...the net's screw just wiggles around in there like throwing a hot dog down a hall.

There's only a hole in the black plastic.

The screw threaded part is a metal tab sticking up from the trunk, right near the tail light. Pull the plastic out to see it.

k...so...
i'm convinced there's nowhere to put the dang cargo net in my car...

there's this 1 "hook" that comes off the chassis behind the black panel. the hook has a hole in it where a plastic clip goes inside. no threading.

and so what i'll be doing is using silicone adhesive to glue on a nut behind the hole, and screwing the bolt that came with the net into it. all i can hope is that the glue holds.

i can't do it yet because my car is in the shop for custom body work.

if anyone with a 00-01 (heck, any gen4) has a net installed in their trunk...a picture would be mighty nice. until then...i guess i'll just have to stick with elmer's school glue. i mean...silicone.
