Does anyone want subforums for the Truck Forum?

Basically, do you guys feel that it would be beneficial to yourselves to have seperate subforums within the Toyota Truck Forum?

Example... we could rename Toyota Truck Forum to Toyota Off-Road Forum, then add specific subforums such as:

Toyota SUV Forum
Toyota Truck Forum

Or does anyone feel that there is a dominant model that deserves it's own forum?

Thanks for all your feedback!

This forum is already dominated by Tacoma's and Pick-ups (Pre-1995.5 model year Toyota trucks). I think Tundra's, Tacoma's and Toyota Pickups should all be included in the same forum. A seperate forum for SUV's might be helpful...I notice that a lot of their questions don't get answered. Just my $.02

Well here's my two bits..Buying a NEW truck isnt on my agenda, but i did find the paint problems and other issues that are being experienced are things that i feel we should be aware of.When would you split the forum?Tacoma on up...(95& newer?)I get better input from the beaters than the waxers,so I don't really like that idea, and I think the beaters get alot of swap ideas from the new rigs, such as factory lockers and 3.4 swaps. The more I think about it, I like the forum how it is..all the tacos, ravs and tundras on the same page  Go toyota nation :whatwhat:

Split em

Definitely separate the truck section.................. New Tacoma's need a separate section... New owners or perspective owners are not really intersted in concerns of the older Tacoma owners.. They have their own issues and the new owners have totally different concerns. I would recommend having a section on the different model and years...................... The new Tacoma model has a lot of issues that I know bores ones who have older models........... and visa versa........................ With all the apparent problems with the new mode(of which I am one) there is enough posts to warrant a separate section............ Either way, this Forum is the best one I have seen.............. and it is free................ that is indeed a prize...............Thanks to those who have been kind enough to formulate and have online...................Cooch

I think it should stay as one,I personally am interested in new Toyota issues for future reference and the older model info to help me now,and 4Runners mechanically are not much different than a truck-and it's not like the forum is jammed up all the timewith excessive posting

I'm new here, but I would agree with dividing it up according to model. (for pickups, up to 95, 95-04, 04- etc.) These trucks have different engines, trans, suspension, etc. You could still go to the other forums, but only read about the model that concerns you ir you want. When I first looked at the forum I was surprised that it wasn't divided up.

How about doing a survey with the different options? Maybe more people would answer.

I know that I am new to this forum, but I agree with burger. I drive a '98 Taco, but am very interested in what's going on with the new ones also! I planned on buying a '05 until I read about all the problems. I think they should stay as one

I would like to see some separation in this forum. I don't understand the folks that would want to keep it as it is. It is as if the discussion on newer models would diasappear if things were separated. The location of the info would just be in another forum which would only IMHO make it easier to find. Just my 2 cents...

I can find whatever info I want with the search button, so that's not really an issue for me.
What I like about them all together is sometimes there are threads geared towards a newer Tacoma or something that are also useful to older Hilux's. I have an 87 truck with the 22RE, and a 90 Runner with a 3.4 swap. I would have to read every forum anyway.
If it were separated by model, then many useful threads about the 3.4 in a Runner might get missed by the Tacoma crowd and vice-versa. A lot of info is good across different models or for getting ideas on improving what you have.
If we were to sub-divide, and I'm not saying we should, perhaps we could split it not by model, but by interest? Such as Drive Train; Suspension and Wheels; and General Info?

ya

G'Day,

I'd like to see pre/post 95 split. Don't split SUV's out though because the old 4runner has same issues as my 89 pickup.

I spend all my time looking for issues related to my truck, I look at all pre 88 pickup posts, and up to 95, the rest are no needed to me.

Love the forum in any format I can get it though :)
Later,
Pete

Thanks for the input guys. I think we'll keep things the way they are unless there is a big demand for it.

Hey RATKO,
Any second thoughts on splitting pre / post 1995? I think it should still be an all-inclusive truck (suv, 4runner, etc), but engines, technology and general issues have changed. Also, this forum is alot busy than when I first joined. I find myself searching more for pertainent information to use or offer advice.
Thanks for listening.

separate them

It would be nice to separate them, Tundra,T-100, 95 and older Tacomas, 95.5 to 2004, and 2005- Tacomas, since I only own one of them I dont read much on the others, I like hearing the feedback on all but dont have much time to read everything, some of the other forums separate them, makes it quicker finding what I would like to read. Great place regardless, Keep up the great work.
