Call the service manager at the dealer and ask about this defect in material. It might not give you joy about the wear and tear of upholstery. I would ignore it if the material isn't torn.

 

My 2016 RAV4 has a softex insert armrest on the drivers door and passenger door. The softex on the driver's door armrest has 3-4 "ripples" in the softex where the arm would rest.

Does anyone know if toyota would fix this since I have their extended warranty that is still in force?

if not, does anyone know if the whole door panel would need to come off to replace it, or if just the one section/panel insert that the has the softex can be popped off?

I had interior door trim replaced under warranty because the armrest developed a "bubble", but the car was only 6 months old at that time. I suspect that after 6 years this will be considered normal "wear and tear", not covered under any kind of warranty.
