For some reason, the driver's side front wheel seems to take road imperfections very hard. There is a very noticable set of thumps and vibrations when going over larger bumps or small potholes. Seems to just have started in the last few weeks. Anybody else experienced this or know what it might be?

I have the same problem, I think that the car is out alignment, because I the car pulls to the left, and as you, I can feel ANY imperfection on the asphalt, I took it to the dealer, they charged Toyota $300 and the car came the same, they say "That's NORMAL.. This car has a lot of screw ups and Toyota call them NORMAL... Anyway, take it to the dealer and have a tech drive the car and test it (be ready to see you car touch the red zone on you tachometer, this suckers drive your car like they stole, and with you on it :censor: )

Well, I'm taking it in tomorrow. The bounce in the wheel has gotten worse. I suspect it is a bad shock. When I park the car on a level surface and push up and down on the fender, the driver's side is a lot easier to bounce. Also make a creaking sound, as if the spring is working harder. Also, the driver's side shock looks like something has been leaking on it, and you get an oily grit on your finger when you touch it. The passenger's side looks dry and has no oily grit.

If anybody is interested, I will post the resolution when I get the car back.

Thanks, but I can't see it. Says something out having to be a paying members or something. Does it say anything about the things I described?
It says what I said.

Sounds like the strut has leaked its oil out and needs to be replaced.

The shock is replaced and everything is back to noraml. They also did an alignment. I dropped it off and the gae me a rid in to work. Called 3 hours later to say it was fixed and scheduled a time to pick me up. Had me car waiting for me when I got there. Excellent service experience.

My take on it is that there are no perfect cars. What does make a difference is how you are treated. I was very pleased. They will probably get a fourth Camry purchase from me in the near future.
