This is what you folks without CA emissions don't have under the hood :

Interesting that only CA emissions cars look like that. The car I bought in NJ also has the CA emissions package. Does only the CA emissions package have that O2 sensor on the manifold? I found a pic of a '12 that has a cover. Judging by the shape of the cover it looks like the manifold is even shaped differently.

I don't think the non-CA emissions cars have an O2 sensor at the exhaust manifold.

The CA emissions cars have two catalytic converters.

The first :Bruce: is right below the exhaust manifold; and thus the O2 sensor in front of it. The heat-shield seen near the coolant tank is to protect from the cat heat.

On the bright side, the CA emissions warranty is 15years / 150,000 miles.

Lol, i didn't even know about this feature until i read about it on the Optima board today. The funny thing was that the OP was complaining about the feature. "my blinker doesn't stop when i release it"

It turns out that the feature can be turned off with the Optima.

I personally don't find many of these IL articles particularly useful. I wish they'd start off with some information that was a bit more pertinent before talking about Change holder and/or 100 Best Looking Car Lists... Personally, I think that this is probably the best looking Camry ever. And, to top it off, it's a sedan. WTF do you want? It's not $50K+. It's not an "exotic". It's a good looking, well performing, effecient, sedan. Triple Blink? Dark Color(s)? Change Holders? Can they really not find enough fault with it's core that they feel the need to nit-pick?

Personally, I love my new Camry. It's comfortable, fun to drive, well equipped, relatively effecient, and fairly good looking. I'm not sure why they can't just say that and be happy with it... (/rant)

I agree! I lost all respect for Edmunds when I read the story about the Camry being ugly and how "anyone who doesn't think the Camry is ugly needs to have their eyes checked." Well I guess I need to schedule a vision appointment because I think my SE is a very sharp looking car, I actually think it looks better than my mom's Sonata. It's one thing to have an opinion piece, but it's another to take a blatant opinion and run it as fact. And when they said the 2.0T Sonata had more power than the I4 SE I closed the window and found something else to do with my time. If you're going to compare apples to oranges and actually complain that the SE with a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder lacks power compared to the 272 HP turbocharged engine in the Sonata then I have no need to read any further. If they had actually compared the SE V6 to the 2.0T they would have credibility. (and they would have realized that the Camry will run circles around the Sonata)

Delay FTB and Likeav6,

I agree with both of you. I'm coming from a 97 Camry (which I totaled on I-40 by hitting a concrete barrier head on at 50 MPH and walked away without a scratch) to a 2012 Camry SE I4 and I love this car. I do miss my beloved 97 Camry but my black SE looks great and I think the best Camry yet. The folks at Edmunds are just trying to find something negative about this car! This car is far from ugly and in my opinion looks absolutely fantastic. The car just keeps getting better and better!
