Looking to purchasing a camry and have few questions. Wife has some backache issues and was wondering what generation camry has the most comfortable seats (deeper seat cushion with lumbar support)


Also would like to know when was the seat heating option first offered and whether the steering wheel heating ever offered in a camry?

I can only speak for my back problems and I love my 2010 Camry LE. The seats aren't made with bumps and lumps that increase discomfort. The adjustable lumbar helps with lower back pain and the smooth back supports without aggravating disc problems. I have both these problems and the Camry is the best I have had in many years. Add to that the smooth ride and it doesnt get much better. I don't believe a heated steering wheel was offered on the Camry. Heated seats can be added any tine. They aren't expensive and work as well as factory ones. None of the Camrys have deep foam padding and at first you may think they are stiff, but on long trips they really feel good

 

Lumbar support became more of a standard on the Gen5+ w/ LE power pkg. I think for the Gen6+, as long as the driver seat had power, it had lumbar as well, but not 100% sure. Heated seats were an option (not standard) on the XLE Gen6+.

Every modern car I've driven, the seats are good but I feel anything from the mid 90s+ don't have the best lower thigh support (behind knee), still fine though. Maybe that just me.

+1 for this. A lot of Lexus/Toyota products have been lacking thigh support, because the seat cushion doesn't extend far out enough.

I'm only 5'10" and drive with the seat all the way back. On my ES330 and my brother's GS300 the cushions were too short and my feet would start to ache from lack of support, especially on long drives.

I have no issue with my 2004 Accord and 1999 Solara seats, the seat bottoms are much longer and have better thigh support, although aren't as soft and cushiony as the Lexus seats.
