Hi,
Last night my Highlander XSE 2023's Traction control got turned off automatically. Then I was not able connect to Apple Car Play. It took me 15 minutes to get it work. Has anyone faced similar issue before? Felt like a bug in the software. If there any update for the firmware?

I am located in Canada.

Thank you.

There shouldn't be a connection between the function of the traction control system and the multimedia screen, so that in itself is odd unless it's a coincidence somehow.

The only thing that you can update firmware on is the multimedia system, and Toyota doesn't issue updates for that very often. Toyota separates all of its computerized functions in different physical modules. The dealer has to update anything other than the multimedia system, again assuming that Toyota issued some kind of update for that particular module.

Entune 3.0 (prior to model year 2023) over-the-air updates only update the "Apps" on the system (which isn't much).
You must do the USB update to truly upgrade the firmware and get bug fixes for the system.

Not sure if Toyota Audio Multimedia (TAM) on the 2023's will have full OTA updates or not.

That update fixed two pet peeves I had with the entertainment unit. First in CarPlay Google Maps navigation mode it wouldn’t show what Sirius CM station I was tuned to, that now works.
Then if I am parked and using my phone while plugged into CarPlay and there was some type of video in a tweet or Facebook post it would switch the audio source to the iPhone. It still does that, but now when I navigate away from the video file the entertainment unit puts audio source back to Sirius.
