Very clean install. Out of curiosity, what problems are you trying to solve or make easier with the front camera? Parallel parking?

 

well I work many nights, and I don't see past the windshield wipers looking down and I prefer not to hit objects. The wife has a pathfinder with the all around view.

 

Oh this is too awesome! Thanks for taking the time to post this! Ill probably be doing this mod now! I LOVE being able to see how close my bumper is to things when Im backing up, I would love to be able to do the same up front.

On that note, do you have any more pics you can post on all of it? Id love to see the emblem after you just dremeled it all out and perhaps a bit more on what exactly is going on with the relay boards as far as what specifically they are controlling and how. Also a screen shot of the camera active on the nav screen just to see what it looks like in use. And do you have any pics of the camera before it was installed?

Thanks. I'll be adding more pictures. I was wanting to take pictures during the install, but it was night and bc of that it was taking longer and forgot about the pictures. I'll dissembled the car this weekend and take some more pictures. Which pictures aren't showing up for you? I checked all the links, but they were put on from this computer...

Yes since the you have the nav override on it. The camera I ordered, I asked for the camera with the distance lines in it

lets kick this thread up again. i did the rear camera for backup. I want to do the front camera also.
to turn it on during driving and if it had night vision that would be the ultimate goal. just the like bmw 7 Series.

that is how mine is set up...I do not have the toyota sat/nav radio option in my SE, so I bought a rear veiw cam w/video display in the rear veiw mirror (it fits and replaces the Camry orig. rear veiw mirror so looks very oem) I then got a a cam for the forward veiw and had it installed and it is also connected to the mirror for viewing (the mirror comes w/on off switch that allows the viewer to turn off the monitor only, so as to not be distracted while driving) So far I'm very happy with set up....will attach pics soon

I am curious- the rear view mirror monitor- is it dim as a mirror?

I have seen several non-OEM ones and they are way too dim. Poor as a mirror. I guess if the rear CAM is always on, it might work?

G'day , I have a 2013-2014 camry atara sl. If I install a front camera can I get the visuals on my or centre touch screen ? Any advice from someone who has done this?

 

Can you be a bit more specific? If you are talking about distance lines, that is based on the camera you get. If you are talking about the screen not showing up the full size, I believe in settings there is an option for how the "video" feed looks, have it on expanded

Yes, the video comes out of the radio's screen. Once you wire the video cable into the radio harness, you will have a video source button
