Yea, 03 up had HID option. Uses the same projector as the LS430 I think and it's not very highly regarded. Like I said, I wish I could get a look at the innards without plunking down $$$ to buy a broken one.

Ah, that completely explains why you don't buy them. If they aren't well regarded, it should be better to just use the halogen projectors. By the way, I left the hood open overnight so I opened it and took a pic for you of the space I had to work with. Notice that wiring loom there, it blocks the boot completely so I have to bend and fold it to get it on/off.

I tried removing the Plasti Dip on my wheels today. Unfortunately, my suspicion was correct that I had too little dip on. It didn't peel in areas, just broke apart. Definitely need more than one measly can for four wheels. But that's my fault. This is where I made a grave mistake.

I sprayed Goo Gone all over the wheels. It melted right off and washed off with a pressurized hose nozzle! BUT the melted dip goop went everywhere and stuck to everything. Wiping it off would smear it so badly. I spent two hours cleaning two wheels enough to make them look presentable, though the tires are covered in orange goop specks still. By the time I finished them, the sun was almost set. So I have two orange wheels :/

Gonna attempt to remove the dip on the rear wheels WITHOUT GOO GONE tomorrow before work 2 and after work 1. Hopefully I manage to wake up early enough to get this done...

Use goo gone, but take the wheel OFF the car
The wheels were off the car, so I could clean the inner barrel. I was washing them at the garage. Goo Gone'd Plasti Dip is still a bitch, smears everywhere and sticks to the tires like mad. If even a small piece gets on the face of the wheel, wiping it off will smear a giant orange smear everywhere. Goo Gone should only be used for small areas, not an entire wheel lol.

Mask off the tire.

Use goo-gone one section at a time.

Hell if I know. It's that or wash the dip and dip more to make it peel.
Or just dip properly in the first place lol.

It's probably gonna be decently easy to just take a dry microfiber cloth and rub like crazy till it all crumbles off. Then throw the rag away because it'll be FILTHY.

A neighbor told me green, so I bought green. Blue is good too! I'll have to buy blue down the road. Also want to do gunmetal gray with some gray metalizer over it.

And the new gloss coating is coming out this year, the amazing one that's true gloss. I am excited.

Slept 2 or so hours, worked two jobs, got home early, and got to work on the wheels. I'M HURTINGGGGG and out of Goo Gone. Bottle is gone.

I do love these wheels, I forgot how great the finish is. Glad to have them back to silver! Also, I just learned that tire shine should be left overnight for a good effect, giving it 2 minutes won't do anything (hence my matte tires after tire shine). And the tires are still a bit orange in places, so I'll get to work with a cloth and WD40 this weekend. Way too tired now, and it's dark anyway.

Check engine light came on at work, and is probably one of the hardest codes to diagnose. P0440. Last time I smogged the car, the guy told me my gas cap is bad and needs to be replaced so I'm gonna go buy a gas cap now. But if that doesn't work, I'm gonna need help...

You just buy a new vapor canister with the solenoids attached around here because the screws rust and they never come apart. Your stuff may come apart, there's I think three solenoids. Likely one or more has failed.

EVAP stuff is very difficult to diagnose, so who knows what it is...

Good news is that I reset the CEL after installing the $10 MasterPro gas cap (Toyota said it was special order, so I'll buy one online instead) and 45 miles and 5 hours later it's not back. This might have been the fix.... hopefully. I dread it not being so.

Also, I drove up next to a 14+ Corolla. My HIDs illuminated everything better than his LEDs, substantially better.
