The lights will turn off automatically after approx 20 minutes but unless you want to run down your battery I would not recommend this. If you want to use the auto function you can set the time interval to 0 seconds, 30 (default), 60 or 90. Check out your user manual for this info.

On your radio go to settings. There it gives you the option to change what exactly the lights do when you turn off your car. For instance my car is set to turn off the second I open my door. I hate it but got used to it. On my previous car 2010 corolla S the lights would then off automatically once the car was turned off and on when on. Check your settings and let us know

Would you please show me step by step because I couldn't find that setting option. I heard you have to take to Dealer or you could do it yourself but will need Tech cable or something like that>.

15-20 minutes of leaving the headlights on isn't going to kill your battery. I tried it out last night...checked out the window at what was more or less 5 minute intervals. They were off by 15 minutes.

Several hours? You betcha.

I grew up in the country on a small farm, but there were cases where I'd drive out to the barn at night and want to leave the car lights on for a bit to see what I was doing.

 Same thing goes with listening to your radio on a lunch break.

Explain what happens if you drop your car off for the day for service, detail, whatever and your lights are left on? Happens more than you realize, I've worked at a Toyota dealer before.

I'm just saying, it's an annoyance. Especially if you normally leave the lights on auto.

Indeed. They do turn off, they're just on a longer timer with a dinger to tell you 'hey, you there, turn the lights off'.

FWIW, my Chevy does the same thing. 10-min timer if you leave the headlights on; adjustable setting on 'auto'.

Don't see the problem here. What I have noticed is that people here like to bash things they don't own for no apparent reason.

I agree on both points. I liked my taco how I could just always leave the lights on and the turned off with the key. Now in my Camry I like the auto for the most part other than the tweener lighting or rainy weather where I feel the headlight should turn on and they don't(I have the sensitivity to most sensitive).. That's the only complaint in the auto setting. Now my jeep turns the lights on with wipers so that's nice because it can be day and rainy but the lights will still turn on
