Heater Core? or something else?

I have a 07 corolla and at random times (whether the engine is cold or hot. heat/ac on or off) I have antifreeze smoke coming out of my vents. There's nothing on my floorboard and my antifreeze is full. It's happened about 3 times over the past 2 weeks and only lasts for about a minute maybe less. My first instinct when there's antifreeze coming out of vents is the heater core but I don't see how it could be if I'm not losing a significant amount of antifreeze and my cars not running hot or overheating.

Has anyone had this problem before? and if it is the heater core does anyone know how much of a pain in the butt it is to change out?

Antifreeze smoke is coming out of your vents? Actual smoke, or it seems to smell like coolant? Have you inspected your cabin air filter and cowl vents?

Its smoke (fog, dust whatever is called lol)that reeks of antifreeze... my sentra did the same thing when the heatercore went out but that was constant.

Just a WAG but maybe it's at a hose connection which leaks when it gets a surge but then seals up again.

Could be a heater core problem. But I would double check that you don't have any small or big leaks under the hood before thinking about replacing the heater core.
