Hello!

I have a 7AFE that have a bit high idle. But when i short E1 to Te1 the idles goes down like it should (engine hot).

So it would seem the be IAC but the ECU controlling it wrong?

Dont have airleaks or anything likethat, checked. And otherwise then high idle the car runs fine! :D

Just confused why it have so high idle? i would guess around 1200RPM

Is the engine reaching normal operating temperature? Not a stuck open thermostat?

Yeah, So i have run it warm. Then connect the ob1 short, and start it again it will have a lower idle. If i then start en take the ob1 short away and start it's high again.

a bit weird behavior dont you think?

So what does the safe/code reader mode enable/controll?

But are you sure the coolant is at 82°C?

And the throttle is fully closed?

Have you worked on or messed with the throttle position sensor at all? Those require a painstaking procedure to set them as I recall.

I have not fiddle with the TPS, but i have fiddle a little with the geometry of the intake, but should not make a difference.

The thermostates open bc it flows in the pipes to the radiator when it get hot, i think i have a82 degree one.
For throttle cap i have tried the screws and it seems like the throttle plate is just were is should when no throttle is applied.

Ok. Was the battery disconnected recently? The ECU needs to relearn the idle speed.

I'm not sure. Maybe someone else knows. Maybe longer than 10 miles.

I have checked for leak with compressed air and soap to to make bubbels but couldnt find any! the IAC i have cleaned it with a lot of wd 40 but not taking it a part, but wouldnt the problem also be seen when i Short obd1 if either of those was the problem? 🤔 Think the ecu is doing this.
