The Tacoma hood scoop started on 2011 and newer Tacoma's? So if I see a Tacoma with a hood scoop its either a 2011, 2012, or 2013 model?
100% Correct. Yes Tmax, the salesman was full of it. And you probably already know the scoops are fake, just for looks.I believe the hood scoops started with the new model of Tacoma in 2005, but it only comes on the TRD Sport.
Good tactic... I've done that a few times also. :thumbsup:I always do my homework before I talk to the salesman then ask them a bunch of questions I already know the answer to. If they give me a line of BS then I know they either don't know their products or they are telling me anything to get a sale.
All is not lost though, the Sport has LSD which is better for most people in most conditions. Can't trust a salesperson to know everything.... or much of anything.... or to be honest about what they know or don't know. Which is why I do as much research as possible before even going on a test drive, and especially before committing to a purchase.I do wish the sales man told me that the main difference between the off road and the sport package was the off road had a locking dif. And the sport does not.
2005 does not have the little protector piece at the front edge of the bed, and the front mudflaps (if they're even still on at this point) are shorter (assuming someone hasn't trimmed theirs before they broke). Is there something wrong with me that I am watching every other Tacoma on the road I see trying to figure out if its the sport, off road, or SR5 and trying to figure out what year it is?
The 2005 to current new ones all look the same to me!
Aerospace 303 ??? maybe I will try that,,, what I use now is Buffalo Milke only because its the only stuff I can find cause its non-abrasive.Tmax--I'd be the last to make fun of you because I do the same thing to my engine and inside hood. Except I use Aerospace 303
You are not alone on TN!
