37 psi all around. Best balance of comfort, handling and roll resistance without the ride harshness.

 

I've noticed how is says "Cold tire 36 psi". And I've noticed the pressure goes up by about 2 or 3 psi when driving. Does that mean it has to be at 36 before driving?

 

Yes, cold pressure is when the car has been sitting. Use the door pressures if you are still using the original size/type of tires.

 

Don't you always use the pressures on the door jamb, regardless of what tires your using?

 

I pump my up to 37 when it's about 60-70 degrees F outside when it's cold and not in the sun. If the tires is facing the sun, it will be higher. Driving, it gets up to 37-38 when driving in the winter, and 40-41 when driving in the summer. If the outside temps drop to freezing, it'll drop the air pressure down to 32 PSI until it gets warm up.

 

I like to have 42 psi all around on the pressures for the HH. You have to remember that auto manufacturers have to balance comfort vs tire longevity on their recommendations, less pressure = more comfortable ride but reduced MPG.

 

You have to remember that the tire pressure will increase as you start to drive. Mine seems to max out at 42, and that's when it's about 90 outside and going around 80 mph for a while.

 

If you’re setting 42psi when your tires are cold you should be aware of what the max psi on the side of the tire says. Mine says 42 psi. If yours is the same you will definitely exceed that maximum when you start driving and the tires warm up.
