Hey folks!
I've been chasing an electrical gremlin around my 2002 V6 Camry. The only things that turn on with the key are lights, ECU (as noted by the Check engine light), fuel pump, door chimes, and door locks. Everything else is pretty much gone.
I already went through wonderful process of swapping out my alternator fuse (fusible link). You can read about that here HERE.The fuse i replace had no damage, and there is power on both side of the fuse. I'm getting plenty of power throughout my fuse box under the hood. I have not yet checked the under dash box for power.
Now I'm wondering if this might be a case of a faulty ignition switch? It seems like the things that are still working fall into one of two categories: stuff normally that runs without the key, and stuff that runs only when the key is in the "On" position. The stuff that's dead seems to be things that normally come to life when the key is at the "ACC" position or the "Start."
Is there any way to test the ignition switch? I've found lots of tutorials on how to change a toyota switch, but nothing about how to test one.
Thanks!
