I am considering buying an in-dash navigation/dvd player/bluetooth touch screen head unit. However I noticed that in the description it states that if the car has the existing JBL audio system then I will need an adapter to make the speakers work properly.

I bought and had new speakers installed therefore will I then need the adaptor?

here is the link to the device:

That depends on if your car has the JBL audio. Does it say JBL on the door speakers? If it doesnt say JBL on the car you will not need the adapter. As for things coming out of China being of poor quality that is not necesarily true. Remember iPhones and a lot of our top products come directly from China. Go to any major clothing store and the same can be said. The truth is Stuff can be cheap anywhere its made. Beware of that fact with anything you buy.

If the car came with the JBL stereo than you will need the adapter because the wiring is different for the JBL system. I recently installed a Rosen HU in my 09 Corolla that had a JBL system & I had to buy the adapter for mine too.

thanks for all the responses. I did not realize it was shipped out of China :( and i do appreciate the heads up on that. Perhaps I will go to bestbuy and see if I can find one that fits the dash and looks flush.

Any suggestions or options available for me to get one for my 05 corolla that will fit it as close to an OEM fit as possible?
