Sure it's possible. You answer one ? with another. How fast do you want to go all depends on how much money you want to spend. Hot rodders have been asking those ?'s since the 1st hot rod. I'm still puzzeled why 'yota is putting the old 2.4 in the 'rolla and camery vs the new 180hp 2.5, that's in the Rav4. My guess is the 2.4 is gone when stock piles are depleted.

There is nothing yet for direct drop in... everything right now will need to have custom modifications. Full Cat-Backs will need to be custom made. Same with Headers, Intakes. I dont know about Turbo's yet. But your best bet is to find a local tuning shop and tell them you want to tune your XRS and give them your blessing to be creative. If you're planning on tuning anyways you aren't concerned with Warranty so go nuts and find a professional tuning shop and work with them. You may also want to get in contact with Blitz who does Throttle Controllers.

Otherwise if you are looking for straight DIY mods to increase HP... you will have to wait a while for the aftermarket guys to buy into the 09 XRS.

(most Scion tC & xB parts can be modded to fit. but will take some time & effort)

the best way to see/learn all the tricks and do's of the 2.4L is in a scion tc forum!

trd s/c sucks h@iry b@lls! for that price or much less you can turbo it and get +300hp

basic bolt ons like I/H/E/P will get ou around 170ish hp (and hangs or pulls on the s/c 2.4L), 25 shot of nitrus will get you the 200hp you want lol!

LOL NOS...

I'd look into Turbo's if you want the extra boost. Supercharging doesn't do enough. Besides don't you want to have the signature sound of a turbo blow-off valve? I know i personally won't mod my xrs, but if i were to, turbo is the way to go. you can push 300+ with the right IHEP set up.

As for IHEP bolt ons... they can do more than an extra 12HP... you can push it up to 180 if tuned properly at the dyno.

Yeah i have the 1.8l rolla and im getting my ecu remapped next year and a custom CAI and hopefully my hearders port and polished. ;) Its all im ever going to do to that engine. Coilovers will probably be the last thing on my list. But yeah its all in how much money your willing to spend. ;)
I wish they made a new RWD corolla. It would be a fun car to drive

OF course its possible. The only problem is $$$$.......... and for companies to make the mods....i guess.

Just look at the stuff for the SCION XB or matrix. They are all very similar. Plus its too early, i bet you anything there will be a ton of stuff for this car next summer. kaching....

As for the XRS, it has decent power for it's size, look at value mods, add 25~ HP flatten the power curve, and some well paired suspension mods(like stronger sway bars), sticker tires.....you can do that for fairly cheap and still transform the car, or almost any car....

Auto companies make cars for the 95%....so if your in the last 5%, just changing a few key parts can bring out that extra the engineer's had to hold back on.

It is possible to push it to 1000hp!

It would depend on how much time and money you had to do it with. A Grand Prix car runs at close to 10,000 rpm. I have actualy heard Grand Prix cars running from as far as 15 kms. away. That is how far I live away from the Grand Prix race track. Of course an engine running at 10,000 rpm will last maybe 200 hours, if you are lucky.

I'm not sure you have to do anything to your xrs to beat a ser. the ser rides like such a crap heap when pushed to the limit it'd probably fall apart or roll or soemthing before it got to the fiish line. The si isn't a whole lot faster than the xrs. My xrs does over 200 km/hr. already and cruises nice at 150 km/hr. Nobody makes a compact car like the xrs. Practical, well made and goes like stink when you want to.
