So I have just encountered a strange problem with my cruse control. I drive about 20 miles to work and then 20 back home. The past two days I drive the whole 20 miles to work on CC no prob. Then about half way back home at the end of the day I get the E3 error and am no longer able to set the CC. After I get home and turn off the car and then back on and BAM it works again. I find it strange that it happens at the same spot on the freeway both days. Is there something that could cause this to happen that anybody knows of? Also what is the E3 code is it just a generic failure code or does it point to something more specific?:wtf:

Are you driving into the sun? Driving in the rain? Is the lens dirty? Because those will cause it to cut off and issue an E3 error code.
I cleaned the lense and the problem has not come back full strength but I did have something curious happen. In the same spot on the free way where I was getting the error wile there where no cars around me my CC showed the symbol for a car being in front on me and slowed down for a few seconds. Then it went back to normal. What could cause it to think there was a car in front of me when there was nothing but open road?3
Possibly there's some reflective material (road sign?) that's causing the error? See if you can repeat it in the same location.
